Problem: The feature in question will get a fine chip that wraps around the shaft that during machining. It is not a consistent problem, but a more random issue, which makes solving the chip control issue problematic. When this condition is present, the pickup work holding becomes embedded with this chip, causing all future parts to have visible marks left behind by chips in the jaws.
Solution 1: Adding a high pressure coolant system to alleviate this and all future concerns like this. The cost of doing this to our current machine is not possible.
Solution 2: Add Aeroforce. This is a practical and reasonably priced solution to the problem. Since installation of Aeroforce I have not had any chips left behind from this operation. Our operators can now run the machine on automatic instead of having to use an M00 to clear chops before pickoff.
